He was born on January 26th 1884 in Clarence Creek, Ontario. He married Bertha St-Onge at the church of the Sacred Heart in Sturgeon Falls on February 22nd 1909. He worked as a farmer. He had a piece of land on Lake Nipissing which is still family owned. Bertha and Herménégilde raised 12 children together. He passed away on February 24th 1954 at the age of 70; Bertha died ten years later in 1964. They both rest in Old Saint Mary's Cemetery in Sturgeon Falls.
