Oliva est née à Clarence Creek, un village situé près de Rockland en bordure de la rivière Outaouais en Ontario. La première photo à gauche a été prise par un photographe de Rockland lorsque Oliva avait environ 13 ans. On peut assumer que la famille Delorme habitait encore ce secteur. Au début du 20ème, la famille a déménagé à Sturgeon Falls près du lac Nipissing. Un des frères aînés d'Oliva, Léon, y avait acquis une terre qui était situé au sud de la ville sur la rivière Sturgeon le 1er decembre 1908. Il a défriché (probablement avec l'aide de sa famille) et cultivé la terre. Comme lui, la plupart des gens ont pris possession de leurs terre à l'aide du "Free Grants and Homesteads Act". De ce fait, Léon est probablement arrivé quelques années plus tôt. Ce qui est interressant c'est que la terre appartient toujours à la famille Delorme. Oliva s'est mariée à l'église du Sacré-Coeur à Sturgeon Falls en 1905.
Oliva was born in Clarence Creek, a community not far from Rockland, Ontario on the Outaouais River. The first photo below (click to enlarge them) was taken by a photographer from Rockland when Oliva was around 13 years of age. It is probably safe to assume that the Delorme family was still living in the area. By the early 20th century, the family had moved to Sturgeon Falls near Lake Nipissing. Oliva's older brother, Leon had acquired land south of the town on the Sturgeon River on December 1st 1908. They cleared and worked the land; later most would acquired it through the "Free Grants and Homesteads Act". In consequence, Leon had obviously arrived a few years earlier. Interestingly, this land still belongs to the Delorme family. Oliva was married at the church of the Sacred Heart in Sturgeon Falls in 1905.
